My husband hit one of the big posts in the IP parking garage. We NEVER take
the rental company insurance and we paid for the rental with our AMEX.
Between our regular insurance and AMEX we paid nothing out of pocket and did
very little in the way for filling out forms.

How long ago (if it was IP it was awhile ago).
Things may have changed on the AMEX deal on car rentals.
I remember getting a notice from one of my AMEX cards that they were changing the car rental insurance program a year or so ago.
