Going to Vegas last week of Nov. There are six of us traveling. I had
checked to rent a minivan @ $343 for 8 days. I don't know why I
didn't reserve one. Checked yesterday. New price to rent, $842. They
must have brought in new models? Ha ha. When you know your dates of
travel reserve early. If you get better price later you can cancel
earlier reservation. I know this. I guess some of us have to learn
over and over.
Because of high price van, I decided to rent two full size cars at
Dollar. I booked in at $225.95 for each. I and the wife will have
wheels to move around casinos etc. Our daughter and son-in-law will
want see different things. This is their first time in Vegas. They
have two young kids traveling with them. If we want to do the dam
thing or Red Rock we'll take two cars. Even at the old cheaper price
for van, 2 cars for a $110 over one van for 8 days is a good value
for independence of our group. In my case with the new price for van,
drop the van and get 2 cars. That's the only to go.
Today that same full size car at Dollar is $240.14. Almost $20 more
per car in one day. These guys change prices like the airlines do.
Just passing a reminder to book early to save. Hey, every $10 is a
roll of quarters. An extra roll could net a royal. Wow, I may have
just saved a $1000 on my rental.

As of Friday, Payless rental had a mini van special, $34 a day. I didnt check the weekly rate.

Hey Nelson

I shot over to Payless and found my dates will cost (with taxes)
$396.31 for 8 days. I also rechecked Dollar for same time and got a
cost of $842.48 for same dates. Quite a difference from the $343.58 I
could have reserved earlier. But, you snooze you lose.

Thanks for the input. Payless, more reasonable in this case, was
worth a look. However, Dollar is giving us 2 full size cars for total
of $451.10. For the extra 55 bucks 2 cars will work better for us. In
this case, you snooze you win.
