<<< Actually Reno is not really that cold. My husband is there this week
for his class at UNR and says that all the people from the frigid northland are
marveling about how warm and nice the weather is. They are going hiking this
weekend to enjoy the weather. He says it is in the 50's and on a sunny day
in Reno this is nice enough to play golf if the winds are not blowing hard.
Because it is high and dry the sun really feels very warm. Of course last Jan.
they had a hundred year snow fall and it was a little different. But I think
this year is more the norm. So don't worry too much about the cold. When I go
in January, I don't even take a big coat.>>>

Two yrs ago, Reno had a December to remember. Very stormy weather, roofs
were blown off, fences were knocked down, wind gusts exceeding 100 mph in Tahoe.
I was snowed in with 80 & 50 closed. Then it happened to me again in Jan.
Don't know what's normal for Reno but I normally bring thermals & a heavy
jacket just in case.
