Reno Trip - THIS weekend

I am heading to Reno for a 4-day junket today 2/27/03 thru Monday
evening. I'll do my best to scrub the vpfree Reno casinos database
and I'll publish a trip report next week. Sure would be nice to read
more trip reports here!

I am predicting that I will spend a lot of time, day & night, at
the .25 FPDW Progressives at the Silver Legacy. The bank of uprights
along the first floor south wall or the slant-tops near the
Stillwater cafe upstairs. (The uprights were berry berry good to me
last December.)

If any of you regular posters or lurkers are in that neighborhood and
you see me, say hello! With 1750+ members, somebody in this group
must play in Reno! I look like Weird Al Yankovitch or even Arlo
Guthrie, or so folks tell me. Please remind me to eat, I tend to
forget.

Replying to my own Post:

All travel went smoothly. Southwest $170 R/T from Seattle.
Gaming from 5:30PM Thurs thru 7:00PM Monday.
Light snow Thurs and Monday, but no matter:
I left the Silver Legacy casino/hotel twice for about an hour.

Room was a gorgeous 15th floor corner room with two
big windows facing south (the El Dorado casino) and
west (valley, mountains, some other casinos). All 4
nites comped based on my video poker play.
I took a break once each day to eat a big dinner.
Dinners were comped also. Twice I had chinese,
twice I went to the Buffet and the last night I had
Prime Rib and Lobster. Yum, but I was bloated for an
hour or two afterwards.

Gaming. Ah. I kept normal hours, no all-nighters.
Generally 10 AM to Midnight. 50 hours of video poker
in the 100 hours I was in-town. Approx 28 hours at
the Quarter level, 20 hrs at dollars and 2 magic hrs at $5 level.

The Money:
Bankroll fluctuations by Day; total for the trip:
1) +400; +400
2) +800; +1200
3) -1200; -0- (even)
4) -1400; -1400
5) +700; -700 (Final)

Machines I played:
.25 Full Pay Deuces Wild Progressive (uprights)
.25 FPDW (slant tops near Keno Main floor)
.25 Double Deuces Wild (slants: 99.62% payback)
.25 10/7 double bonus (slants -multigames)
.25 Double double bonus progressives(various uprights)
.25 deuces triple play (ugly ducks ~98% payback)

$1 10/7 Double Bonus Progressive(slants near BJ
tables)

$5 9/6 Jacks or Better (uprights in High Roller area)

Jackpot tally:
(Hand-pays or the coins spew out immediately)
Quarters:
    Quad Wild Deuces: 6 X $250
     Quad Aces on DB: 2 X $200
      ROYAL flushes: 1 X $1000

Dollars(all DB):
     Quad Aces: 2 X $800
      Quad 3's: 4 X $400
       Royals: 0 X $4200+

$5 (JoB): Quads: 0 X $625
           Royals: 0 X $20,000

No straight flushes in JoB or DB !

Other big pays (Quads in DB):
     .25: 5 X $62.50 (5's- K's)
           3 X $100 (2's- 4's)
     $1 : 11 X $250 (5's- K's)

    $5 : 2 X $225 (Full House, 9-1)

Points earned on trip: 2538 equates to $50,750 Coin-In. Feb 28, 2003
the Silver changed their Video poker points formula: it WAS $10 coin-
in = 1 points, NOW it is $20 coin-in = 1 points. Same point charts
as before for comps: 500 pts "daily average" for room comp. I think
this will alienate the locals, The Silver Legacy promotions people
seem to be trying to cater to higher roller players: $1 as oppposed
to quarter players.

I earned a tee-shirt and room/board comps.

I met one pro, Bruce on the dollar machines. Watched his friend snag
a dealt Royal on the .25 triple play machine. (different Progressive
on each line - $14XX, $11XX & $13XX)

I met one local vpfree lurker who recognized my posting -Bob W.- (you
left your card in the machine when you went home Monday!).

Hit my Royal the last morning on a Double Deuces multi-game slant
top. Held 3. My two Quad Aces on the $1 DB for hand-pay $800 were
pretty exciting too. Held 2 and Held 1 on those.

Database update tomorrow: Silver Legacy only...

e-mail me if you want host name(s). I didn't ask their permission to
publish plus I really couldn't tell if they had any specific VP
knowledge, but they were helpful and generous enough. I didn't get
that chummy.
