Reno Trip Report

Just got back from Reno from a trip that ended on Wednesday. Played
primarily at the Atlantis but spent a day at the Peppermill as well.

Atlantis

Confirmed the $1 AA is back in the two machines to the left of the
bar. Confirmed the 10/7/80 to the right of the stage.

Confirmed the 6 10/7 DB and 6 10/6 DDB machines in the Sky terrace.
Got killed on these machines - 16 hours of play ~14,000 hands with
just 3 quads -- lost $2,300 on these machines

Confirmed the four 5 play Multistrike machines. They have SDB, NSUD,
and JOB.

$1 JOB 9/6 progressive against the wall in high limit across from the
slot club was over $6300 for the royal after I left. - nobody was
playing it at all.

Confirmed the super times (4) pay JOB paytables only near the poker
room.

Found 25c (only full pay for 25c) Full pay SDB Spinpokers between the
poker room and rock tunnel.

Found 10c 10 coin ($1 a hand) pickem in the AA machines near the
purple parrot.

Food - If you are a seafood lover you must try the 24 piece seafood
platter at the Oyster bar. For 25.99 you get 6 lobster claws, 6
oysters, 6 huge shrimp, and 6 large snow crab clusters its is meant
for two but I ate it myself for my whole meal - delicious. Other
delectables worth trying is the fish and chips, cioppino, pan roasts,
and jambalaya - all made with fresh huge amounts of seafood.

Inside track - For the occasional visitor the nickel multi-line SDB
is the best comp play. You accumulate comps rapidly and if you play
on the COD (Sun-Thurs) the play is 100.05%. You must play nickel
because the COD is 100 coin bonus for the nickel level only. For 25C
it is only a 40 coin bonus and none for 1c or 2c. You can play
nickel 5,10,20,50,100 or any amount of hands on the 50-100 play
machines. When I return i will go Sun-thurs and play the mickel
fifty play SDB to cover comp requirements and mosey on over to the
Pepp or Silver legacy for FPDW.

Peppermill

I can confirm the existence of all of the FPDW at the Pepp. They are
MG/MD 25c 10 coin TITO fast machines. I hit the ducks and walked
away with a nice profit. Hit these folks while they still are
around. Nobody was playing these when I was there on Tuesday - fat
city. I also found 25c JOB in the spinpokers between the table games
and the fancy restroom in the back. For Texas Holdem fans, 2-4 at
the Pepp, 3-6 at Atlantis. Nice coupon book for slot club signups
that include a 40 coin bonus for a 6,7,8,9 quad, $10 matchplay, and
30 for 20 holdem coupon.

If anybody has questions please e-mail privately.

Jonathan:

Thank for the quick TR and inventory update -- very useful for my
trip this coming friday. I enjoy the oyster bar at the Atlantis,
too! Hope the FPDW at the Pepp is still there.

From a TR standpoint this will be fairly boring so I will keep it
short. No big ups or downs, just fairly steady play and I ended on
the positive $80 on the trip, not counting $10 from bonus plays from
swiping my players card or when the cute girls dressed in catsuits
paid me $40 just for using my players card in the machine I was
playing on some promotional deal. Played mostly Spinpoker (9/7DB
and NSUD) and 50-play, but I can comment on some of the inventory.
All machines at the Peppermill are now TITO.

Peppermill:

-- DW:
I can confirm the six 25c FPDW by the Oceano doors which are full
pay at 5-coins or more. The machines are MG/MD and offer NSUD at
all other denominations. Otherwise, NSUD is plentiful around the
casino, including most but not all(!) of the Spinpokers -- be sure
to check the paytables!

-- DB
I found one bank of progressive 10/7DB (progressive for RF, SF, and
quad Aces) near the Fireside Lounge next to the ATM. There may be
others but I didn;t find them. 9/7 is also plentiful around the
casino, including all of the Spinpokers I found.

-- JoB
Also plentiful around the casino.

-- DDB
The bank of FPDW machines described above has DDB, but 5 of the 6
machines are 9/6. The sixth machine is 10/6 at the 25c AND $1
level. Don't know if this was an downgrading oversight or
intentional. But as of 31 Jan, there was one 10/6 DDB machine.
Otherwise 9/6DDB was found around the casino.

My coin-in was around $15K for the trip.

I had a comped suite at the Peppermill but I did make one side trip
to the Atlantis to use my $20 Xtra Play cash.

I went to the Atlantis to find out how to get the Xtra Play credit
and they said "you need a PIN for your card" so I handed it to the
boothling who looked it up and said my card is linked to my wifes
card and SHE has to be here physically to establish a PIN. And oh
by the way all my play goes onto HER card, so I have no access to it
anyway. Huh? I am going to write to the Atlantis to see if that
was actually correct. I am not losing sleep over it but thats a
good way to keep me at the Peppermill where my offers are better and
I still don't see a disparity between the VP offered at both places.

On the Sky Terrace I can confirm the 6 machines that jasimonetta
described with 10/7DB and 10/6DDB. I couldn't tell about the
Spinpokers because others were playing them.

Both casinos were relatively crowded on the weekend, not so much on
Monday. Circulation seemed to be improved at the Atlantis, the
Peppermill was already very good.

Thanks again to jasimonetta for pointing me in the right direction
in the two casinos.
