Reno Trip Report

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I returned Wednesday from a three-night stay at the Atlantis
Casino/Resort in Reno and although the Gambling Gods were not very kind we were
impressed by the property and the treatment we received there.
We came in on an offer to Harrah's Seven Stars card holders that included
three nights in a deluxe suite, $500 free play, a $100 food or Spa credit,
limo transportation to and from the airport and an instant upgrade to Royal
Diamond card status which gave us access to their VIP Lounge and some
other amenities.
First, the gambling. We did not have a positive trip but we found the VP
inventory to be outstanding. Almost everywhere we looked we found games such
as 10/7 DB, NSUD, 9/6 JOB, TDB, BP etc. and many of the games could be
found either with progressive jackpots or in "fun games" like Multi-Strike,
Super Times Pay, Dream Card or multi-lines.
Our suite was a beautifully appointed, two-room layout with three large
flat-screen TV's, a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom, two bathrooms, leather sofas
and chairs, a bar area and a big dining room table. The restaurants that we
tried were excellent, including a wonderful anniversary dinner Sunday
night in the Steakhouse we shared with a dear friend, who lives nearby in
California and plays in Reno frequently. We also liked the buffet, the Manhattan
Deli and the Purple Parrot coffee shop.
The VIP Lounge on the 25th floor of the Concierge Tower was spacious and
offered beautiful views of the city and free internet access (two computer
stations), including a printer. They served a continental breakfast there in
the morning that we loved.
Our host was extremely gracious, allowing us to combine offers so we could
take advantage of the fact that Hedy and I are both Seven Stars. Hedy, in
fact, was able to get a hair treatment in their salon using the offers we
received.
We also liked the fact that we could play a lot of the games we like in
the non-smoking area on the Sky Terrace and near the Java Coast.
The only negatives were the fact that we couldn't take non-stop flights
from the East Coast (we had to fly through Phoenix on the outbound flight and
through Denver coming home) and we thought the casino was a little dark
for our liking. Otherwise, everything was nicely in our comfort zone and
we're looking forward to going back.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

Coach,

Once again thanks for sharing your trip report.
I hope you spent some money on your layover in Phoenix.

I didn't realize that Harrah's owned the Atlantis. How long has that been a fact?

One look at the video poker paytables and you can see that HET does not own the Atlantis. LOL!!

Must have been some cross-company marketing.

it was a competitive offer made available to any HET seven stars or stations chairman card holder:

http://www.atlantiscasino.com/insider/

the atlantis, as far as i know, did not acquire a list of HET or stations customers and has not marketed to them directly.
