Just got back from Reno/Carson city/Tahoe trip, I didnt make detailed
notes like some, but I will do my best.
Uneventful flights, but hard to get decent airfare with the 6 month
long bowling convention still going on till June something.
Arrived 11am and headed straight to Tahoe/Carson city, stopped at
Carson Nugget to try to get double pts from a promo they were running
in March, but the promo was over. Still played some .25 multi line
DDB 10/6/40 and didnt do well, dropped about $1500
Headed down to Tahoe since I had a offer for $1000 in promo chips from
Harrahs (first one). Got to the cage and they handed me 2 $500 promo
chips that were good till you lose, so they were like cash, but you
had to play them. Couldnt decide what to play at $500 a hand, and
finally decided on mini bac (with some help from a friend on the
phone). Sat at the table and it was very choppy, but finally bet and
won the first bet, so I felt much better that at least I would leave
with something. I ended up winning 5 of 7 and had $2400 after
commisson and tips, feeling much better than after leaving C.N.
Back towards Reno and at the last minute I turn into Fandango to cash
a $40 coupon since it was right along the way. Decided to play the $1
5 play JOB and was doing OK when I was dealt a RF for a total of $20k.
Everyone there was very nice and happy for me and I played a little
more and took my bigger bankroll to Reno, feeling very good !!
Get to S.L. to stay for 2 nights, had a basic somewhat worn room, but
it was clean and I slept just fine (thats all I really need). Played
at CC next door since SL's day runs midnight to midnight and didnt was
a short day on my play history. Nothing exciting at CC, played a
while and went to bed at 11:30 local time and figured out that I had
been up for 22 hours, no wonder I was really tired !!
Woke up early (as usual on trips) and started playing 10play DDB .50,
hit AAAA2 from holding a pair and it was a hand pay, didnt take too
long since there was very little action at 7:30am. Nothing else of
note and took a breakfast break about 9am. Continued on the DDB, and
was not doing very well, so took a walk around and cashed my $250
offer, and stopped by High Limit to try the .05 100 plays, which as
already reported are now .05 and .10, so I was pleased that I could
play 95 hands of .10 JOB (dealt quads would pay $1187.50, if you could
hit one). No dealt quads and no RFs at all. Played a lot and went to
talk to my host about Barron status and flight reimbursement. She
said that because I play VP and not slots, I may not get Barron status
, no matter how much I play, but she would talk to a higher up. The
next day, I checked again and was told that NO VP player will get
Barron status and if you are not Barron you DO NOT get flight
reimbursement. I had played 6000 pts the day before, so hopefully at
least my offers will go up.
Moved over to Pepp to see my great host and played a variety of NSUD
and SDB and JOB, even though I hit a 1k RF, a 2K RF and some other
good hits, still down about $4k.
Overall a wonderful trip thanks to the dealt RF, which is number 4
(four) for this year, very hard to believe since I hadn't gotten one
in over 3 years.
Excellent seafood at Oceano (Pepp), and Fairchilds (S.L.) otherwise
mostly basic food, as I was traveling alone this time.
Happy Royals
Jim
PS.. will try to upload the pic of the dealt RF
