is it really this defined between these two locations.
If VP is decent in reno, then slots must be particularly poor, or there
is a low percentage composition.

The official gaming commission reports group slots and VP together.
I do not remember there ever being that much of a difference between
Tahoe and Reno before. But a single Mega jackpot can skew the results
by 1 percent. According to the last fiscal year report the Tahoe &
Carson casinos lost money while Reno/Sparks make money.

More interesting facts from the report:

Comps from the 9 largest Reno/Sparks casinos was 25.7% of gaming
revenue, half in Rooms,Food,Booze and half cash.

Revenue per square foot for the poker rooms was about the same as
slots.

They also give the slot revenue per room night --
I think it was about $160.
So those "free" rooms are a good deal for them.

Just got back from Reno and I found this:
- Carson Nugget in Carson City: It looks like there are 4 quarter
Pick'em machines left on the north side of a bank of 8 at a progressive
meter. Theres are in the SW part of the building toward the elevator.
