Reno/Tahoe notes in passing

Wish I had good news to report but from a quick 1-day trip here's what I
DIDN'T find:

Peppermill: 5-play Multi-Strike which had NSUD are gone from former spot
near main cashier(did not search casino for possible new location)

Atlantis: no changes apparent

Hyatt: many changes on the floor with many banks being moved & new machines
coming in. Most significant change is that the 2 $ Pick'Ems are gone. Checked
everywhere but the bars. At a glance the bars didn't seem to have 'em either.

Caesars Tahoe is now owned by the same group that owns Horizon. Some relief
from a Harrahs hegemony. Hope that new owners don't do what happened when they
acquired River Palms -- fire & rehire. Tried Primavera restaurant (Italian)
for the first time & found the cioppino to be very good. I don't normally go
to italian restaurants voluntarily but this is worth going back for & it's
the way I like it -- no spicy with lots of seafood. Service was excellent.

Horizon: had become used to old promotions best of which were Sun -- double
pay on four 8s up to $125 max & Thu -- double CB. It's all gone now replaced
by some other set of daily promos. Sorry, didn't write it down but wasn't
enough to entice me to play on any particular day. What does entice me is that
they still have excellent monthly gifts which I enjoy playing for. This month's
is a sweatshirt. Only ones left when I got it was green with a Christmas
bear on front.

Harveys/Harrahs: Safeway cards dried up due to crowd from recent vp
tournament but sure they'll have more later. One of my complaints about RFB status is
that it really isn't RFB. Whatever you charge does come off your acct.
However, did enjoy room on Harveys 19th floor. Couldn't see the lake on the first
day due to fog which covered the whole lake & shoreline.
