Reno Ramada

So no one in this group has ever set foot in the Reno Ramada casino? They call it the Speakeasy Casino. The hotel has good reviews but I can't find anything about the VP.

George

I don't think it's called the SpeakEasy anymore...seems to me like it's called the "Diamond" Casino now...but I could be wrong..
EDIT: Nevermind, the "Diamond" is at the Holiday Inn..wheras the "SpeakEasy" is at the Ramada...
Unfortunately, I've never set foot in either, as they don't look too appealing. If you're not really in a hurry, I'm going to Reno this weekend, I can take a look around if you wish...

That would be great if you could check it out. Who knows what gems are inside. Maybe that's why there is no info in this forum...the locals are keeping it to themselves. BTW I read that the Ramada used to be the Holiday Inn. This is confusing.

Where IS the Ramada Reno? Is that the one that's a couple of blocks over from Virginia pretty much by itself?

There used to be a Ramada hotel and Speakeasy casino at 6th and Lake, a few blocks east of Circus Circus. That closed down many years ago.
The hotel at 1000 E. 6th, which is well over a mile away, just past Wells Ave. was the Holiday Inn with a small casino, I think it was called Diamond Jim's or something like that. Apparently that one is now a Ramada hotel and casino. According to the Ramada web site, they have table games, poker, and a sports book. The pictures of the casino on the web site look to have a bank of VP machines, no idea if they are any good or not.
I did stay there once when it was the HI and the hotel and restaurant were very nice, but that was probably 20 years ago.
