Peppermill
Confirm that VP is on its way down. Last month, best game was $ 10/7 DB
w/prog rf, now it's 9/7. However, there are at least 3 $ 10/7 DB still left (high
limit bar right side). As for 5-play MS bank that chief mentions, there's
also NSUD in it at all 3 denominations. Besides the $ 10-coin JB prog, there are
other progressives that are worth checking. Believe that the .25 10/7 DB w
prog on rf & A's are still there. For frequent visitors & locals, there's a
couple of good reasons to go often: Peppermillions card swipe & the Sunday
drawings. The card swipe occasionally has fair gambling coupons. The Sunday
drawings favor the heavy player in that drawing tickets are based on play. For a
while the drawings were dominated by pros but Peppermill is doing a job on
clearing them out to give others a chance. Guessing that they're trying to take
away incentives for the pro/advantage-only player & using mailers/bounceback
to keep the ones that fit whatever their desired profile is. Was there
yesterday & can vouch that they are still generous with their comps.
Atlantis
Did not visit yesterday but last trip, they still had nickel & dime super
aces on the seafood bridge & they still had $ 10/7/80 DB. Atlantis also has a
Sunday drawing which favors those who play. The way Atlantis runs their
drawing is the way everybody should do it. The emcee must be penalized for how long
he takes whereas emcees elsewhere must be rewarded for long they can keep
people off the tables.
In General
I'll echo chief's overall sentiments about vp in Reno. Every time I visit
there's more losses of good vp & few good replacements. The same goes for Tahoe.
As a Californian, I'm waiting for the day they open up a casino next door.
I'll probably be playing on gaffed machines but it's with the small fortune
saved in gas money that it would have cost to drive to Reno/Tahoe.
