Wendover is in Utah and West Wendover is in Nevada. The casinos are in
West Wendover, of course, and they do draw from the non-Mormon residents of
Salt Lake City and other Utah cities.<<
I'm sure a lot of folks would get a chuckle about the "non-Mormon" comment.
First time visitors will be a little surprised about the size and quality
of the hotel rooms, as well as the casinos in Wendover. I use the free
room offers at the Nugget a couple of times a year (while passing through on
the way to the airport in Salt Lake City). I think the buffet is better at
the Nugget, but have decided the coffee shop at Montego Bay has a more
complete menu. They've moved things around, but there's still a few 8/5 BP
machines at the Nugget.
The Red Garter has been cleaned up and now has its own slot club, but I
couldn't find anything worth playing there.
Not much to do outside of gaming in Wendover unless they've got something
going on at the Concert Hall. If you get tired of just looking at the
Great Salt Lake, I think they've got some jeep/ATV tours you can buy your way
into.
