Does anyone know if the Reno Peppermill slot club has merged with Western Village's slot club? Will some moderate amount of play at Western Village generate some nice mailers from the Peppermill? Thanks for the info.
Reno Peppermill slot club
I'd say there is a good chance. I get offers for the Peppermill properties in Wendover based on my Reno Peppermill play.

I wonder if it'll work vice-versa..there is a KILLER play at Western Village, and I'd like to get offers for Pepp in Reno from it...

Hello All,
What is Wendover like? I have played infrequently recently in Reno/Peppermill but I keep getting the letters from Pepp regarding free charter flights to Wendover direct from Green Bay and free suite + some FP.
Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. I am assuming they must be desperate for tourists to come since there is no way I am a highly valued player for the Pepp Reno.
Thanks
Diane

From my search on internet it appears to be a very small sleepy town. We decided to go later this month and will be staying at the Montego Bay.

Wendover is in Utah and West Wendover is in Nevada. The casinos are in West Wendover, of course, and they do draw from the non-Mormon residents of Salt Lake City and other Utah cities. There was a movement at one time to merge the two into "Wendover Nevada." There is not much to either settlement other than housing for casino employees and shops catering to their needs. You used to be able to rent a car but that is no longer possible. As long as you are content to spend all of your time in casinos, you should enjoy it.

Well it also advertises a "spa" so we will check that out. I am taking my 4 months pregnant daughter in law with me to give her a break from two small toddlers and pamper her a bit.
I figured it was pretty smalll......
Thanks for input.

HI - this is from my may 2010 trip report...Tom
Day 1-2 : NY to SLC to Wendover
Our Delta flight to Salt Lake City landed on time. I was not happy with Alamo, who supplied me with a standard size 4 cylinder Dodge Avenger with 40,000 miles , Illinois plates, and a 3 mark damage sheet. When I complained about this, the very unknowledgeable clerk, told me I'd have to wait for another car ( even though I made this reservation 3 months ahead) and paid top price of $520 total cost. This car would be returned to RNO a week later, and would incur a $125 different location surcharge inserted into the total cost. It ran well, but the check oil light came on as I returned the car.
It took about 2 hours to reach Wendover along route 80 with its 75 MPH speed limit. High winds along the Great Salt Lake Basin , required some RV's to pull over and tighten up. Wendover has a historic WWII airfield, which we did not visit.
Wendover: 2 nights at Rainbow casino
Rainbow: There is a shuttle bus ( 24X7 ) that runs every 15 minutes between Rainbow, Peppermill, and Montego Bay.They have a really nice lounge and good steak house. The walk to Montego is only 1 mile and I did this no problem. They have a good selection of games including NSUD and various progressives.
Montego Bay: Excellent VP selection of 8/5 Super Aces, Nsud, 9/6 bonus deluxe, 9/6 aces and faces DDB. Will stay here next time.
Nugget : Attached to the Montego Bay, it has some full pay machines like 9/6 Jacks progressives. 50C / $1 machines included NSUD,9/6 BDLUX, 9/5 super double, 9/6 Jacks, double deuces ( 99.6 ) and cheap food.
Peppermill: My least favorite of the 3 Peppermill owned casino's , had Nsud and 7/5 super aces. Easy walk to Rainbow
Red Garter: Nothing playable

For some reason a lot of folks have started to get the offers. Mine are erratic. some free w/ regular room, sometimes suite, sometimes $125 free flay, and other months only half off reg. price.
I got a $10 freeplay for nugget and $5 freeplay garter for Jan and Feb
for a tiny ammount of play at nugget and zero play at garter. Nugget is clean, a little decent vp, a leroys spotsbook with kisok betting machine (better odds that Pepp properties). Red Garter..save the trip.
Stayed in regular room at Montego, quite acceptable. There is a workout room and a pool there. The Steakhouse was great. Coffee shops in Montego and Rainbow are not up to Pepp Reno standards and the buffet at Montego horrible both times I ate there. I would guess the other two properties would not be that much different in the food dept.
As mentioned the Peppermill seems to be the least desirable of the 3.
You can see your comp balance at the koisks and see a separate (smaller balance) for gift shop comps...(The booze is spendy). You can pay with the card at resturants.
5 stars for the flight, transport to and from airport, they got their stuff together there. Going back to the Rainbow in April.

thanks to all who responded with some info on Wendover. It is most appreciated.
It has helped reduce my expectations to the proper level for the trip. Since its mostly to relax and pamper a pregrnanat daughter in law who has been trapped with 2 small ones during our long snowy winter, we should be ok.
It's a getaway relaxation for her -- not a primary gambling make money trip for me. But who knows what will happpen. Lightning does strike even on poor pay machines.
I assume too that I will get some comp offers from Pepp Reno out of this.....but if not, not.

Haha, looks like your post was hijacked by people eager to talk about Wendover.
I would not think play at WV would get Pepp mailers, but hopefully play at WV will generate some nice WV mailers:)
But you might like this..you can use WV comp balance at Peppermill,
I saw this in the slot club info card there last week.

Thank you Don for the info, interesting. I thought I might try to find a 50 or 100 play machine there. Anyone seen any there lately? I thought the TSA was supposed to cut down on hijacking. ; ) This exchange in both directions is good.

I'll be back back there in about a week, I will drop you an email if I find the machines. Also I'm wondering if you might see a combined Reno/Sparks/Wendover card in the near future.
