Reno on a budget

The Sands is offering an October internet special of $27/night Sunday - Thurs. I've stayed at the hotel and its not
that bad - I'd actually stay there again. Its about a 5 minute walk ( safe from 7AM to about 9PM ) to the Eldo/Silver fancy hotels. If I recall, it has some decent 5c/10C games. They have a slot club thats bound to chuck you a free meal for joining up or playing.

A couple of us have thought that we'd like to take a trip to Reno but it'll have
to be on a budget this year. Can you offer any advice about decent place to
stay for not a lot of money that has decent $.05 Video Poker (if there is such a
thing :-))? We'd like the hotel to have an outdoor pool also.

We would be staying three nights. We like to take walks outside so it would
need to be somewhere safe.

Not sure if you planned your Fall trip yet,
but I just booked the Grand Sierra (formerly Hilton, I think),
and they have specials of $39, and you can possibly get 1 or 2 nights extra for free, esp. if you arrive Sat, Sun, Mon or Tues.

Incl. 2 bkfst buffets, and other bonuses ($10 bowling, Quest).

Check hotel websites.
