We are going to be there this coming Thursday and Friday (25-26) for a Bar Mitzvah but need to play enough to get our room comped, etc. Any promotions going on? Any other good plays that are not listed in the Database? We won't have enough spare time to burn out even a fabulous play - but would like to play at the best EV that we can. We have offers from the Peppermill - but no time to go over there.

Thanx for any help. Feel free to e-mail us personally if you wish.

There are no plays good enough to burn out at RH.

I'm not even certain that all the plays listed in the database are still there.

At the $ level, the best play is Pick'em. If you need to play higher, then your best option will be NSUD.

If you want smaller plays, then I think your options are JoB or scouting the progressives.

Last time I went there the database looked accurate. i.e. the best EV
is PKM, there's a lot of high-limit JoB, etc...

If you have a car, Pepp and Atlantis are a few minutes away. If you
don't have a car things are certainly different.

"...but need to play enough to get our room comped, etc."???

Here's a tip.
Don't play for comps.
Sound familiar?

Yep! I didn't give all the details. There are some other perks - airfare, BB, etc. And if I am going to pay out of pocket for room and food, I can count that in the return. I usually don't count comps.

Actually I meant that I wouldn't have much time to play - so wouldn't "overplay" even if I found a really good play. I will play the minimum amount for two reasons: time constraints and it will be with a smaller edge that we like.

I'm not one that normally gets overly excited by gas prices but here in
Connecticut the price for a gallon of regular gas at all my local gas
stations has risen 40 cents in the past 3 days to $2.99. The good stuff is
running $3.19 to $3.29.

This rapid increase is a bit of any eye opener but I can't say that I will
be curtailing my trips to casinos because of this. After all, when you are
betting $3,000 or more per hour at video poker it is tough to argue that a
40 cent increase in gas will somehow cause you to stay home and watch old
movies.

I know some casinos are marketing to this. Mohegan Sun had been distributing
gas cards but I haven't seen anything lately. Some AC casinos are also
distributing gas cards.

Can I assume others around the country are seeing price jumps? Is anyone
actually canceling trips on this upcoming Labor Day weekend because of gas
prices?

Terrible's Las Vegas has a new sign up that if you earn 1000 points
($1000 coin-in) on Monday to Wednesday you get $5 free gas. It was new
to the boothlings today but it appears that they do not deduct any
points for this promotion. In addition, since they are restricted
points, you should be able to redeem the same 1000 points for the
standard $10 gas if done within 7 days before they revert to anytime
points when they would only then be worth $1 cash or $2 gas through the
kiosk. Beware as standard slot club lines average close to a 30 minute
wait and with this promotion they will probably explode exponentially.

My wife filled her tank yesterday here in Georgia for 2.59 per gallon. This
afternoon it was up to 3.09; a .50 increase in one day.

I am in Southern CA. Our gas is up to 2.89+ also. Tonight on the news, they noted a gas station where they were broadcasting from that had raised the price 6 cents in 6 hours...It went up hour by hour, a penny at a time. And they said it would continue on as such until who knows when! It's not '40 cents in 3 days'..but deffinately going up...we were already SO high!

I read a comment somewhere that someone not directly affected by Katrina wrote, that really made me stop & think. While speaking of gas prices, she/he said "I won't be complaining of gas prices when I fill up tomorrow, at least I have gas to buy!!!" It was a simple comment, not all that 'extrodinary'..but still, it made me stop & think that at least we do have a place to stay, food to buy, cars to drive & yes..all be it WAY to expensive, gas to buy!
