Reno downgrades

Grand Sierra

9/6 JOB widely reduced to 9/5 or 8/6, including the multi-lines. These were marginally attractive with the .5% FP and mailer FP (also reduced, at least for me), but now ...

Its super-carousel remains intact and I usually spend an hour on get-away day (very limited play) playing them without a card. The loose deuces have been very generous with a royal and 2 loose deuces. Both deuces hit on 2 card holds. If you are deuce fan you know how infrequently this hold connects, so I've been very fortunate.

Peppermill

Now that you can see your comp dollars at the kiosk, it's readily apparent how little your play earns. Perhaps this is why these accounts have been opaque for years with hosts given wide discretion to run negative accounts based on action. So why show the miserly rates?

I found comp rates from .01% (yes that's right)to .23% (max) depending on machine type, schedule, and denomination. Surprisingly it's the multi-line (higher action) that has the lower rates and I think an element of time, base denomination, and won-loss (per machine) are also factors. Pay schedules largely remain intact and my analysis focused on JOB, NSUD, and SDB. Point rates per coin are also greatly increased and parallel comp rates.

Rooms are now totally free if booked under an offer code, but food will come out of your account. If you're an average eater and player, it won't take long to deplete your comp account unless marketing decides to periodically offer comp dollars.

Now more than ever it's important to develop a host relationship for discretionary comps. If that's not happening, I don't see any advantage to playing here.

Of course if you can find a "mistake" ...

Thanks for the update. I was confused by what you mean by "Point rates per coin are also greatly increased and parallel comp rates."

Thanks, twowild, for the great information on comps at Pepp. My husband and i are leaving today and the Pepp is one of our stops. Your info helped a lot. thank you for sharing. Of course we have a great host, Chris Bak, who takes care of us 100%. But your information was...priceless. Thanks for taking the time. Annie, from rhode Island, suffocating in snow, all snow, all the time. aaagh!

You're very welcome. Sounds like you could use a vacation!

Good luck to you and Charlie. Hope to see a report.

Nice to hear from you George.

I meant that it takes more coin-in to earn a tier point as well as a comp dollar.

Thanks for taking the time to determine comp rates for the Peppermill. I
played video blackjack there about three weeks ago. It was the first time
in years that I had gambled there. After playing part of an evening, I was
shocked by how little comps I was earning. I didn't figure out my comp
rate; I just knew from experience that it was terrible. I decided that I
would go to my favorite casino, the Atlantis, and elsewhere to play the next
day.

I paid for the buffet at the Peppermill that evening and was struck by how
empty the restaurant was. Apparently, most of the people eating there
didn't have sufficient comps and like me were paying for their buffet.

Do you suppose that the comp rates are significantly higher for the slot
machines with their much lower return?

The weird part of the Peppermill is that they are being very aggressive with
their free offers. Mine was the result of having played at the Montego Bay
in Wendover.

That's really upsetting about GSR, because I really liked playing the 9/6 JoB Progressives by the cashier...
At pepps, I figured their comp rates were pitiful.
So apparently now, JANugget and Atlantis have become the best places, with 100.17% EV + .335% and 99.54% EV + 1.25% respectively.

I didn't check progressives, so they may be intact. Take a look to be sure or maybe someone who knows could post and clarify.

I'll swing by this weekend and check...
