Remember why you started gambling in the first place

Recently returned from a vacation in Canada & just got caught up on 2 weeks
of newsgroup postings. Don't check postings (or emails) when on vacation.

Couldn't help but notice a lot of angst over changes.

If it causes this much stress, ask if the benefits are worth it.

If not, remember there are other places that would like your business.

When I started gambling over a decade ago, I had some basic limits within
which I would continue to gamble. Though I've had some lapses I've pretty much
kept to those limits.

When I have a bad run of luck, I review what I'm doing & my objectives. My
latest losing streaks haven't caused me to change anything because, upon
review, I stayed within my limits of acceptable risk. It's taken several years of
tweaking to know where my comfort level is.

When casinos change pay tables or slot benefits, I'm more likely to figure
out how to adjust rather than complain about it. Change is a fact of life. (I'm
already considering how to get around when I can't drive any more.)

Not saying that what I do is a model for everyone else, just asking you to
remember why you started gambling in the first place.

Ted Chee,

See what a couple weeks of fresh air does to your head. You sound too
well adjusted for us. Sit down at a machine and let a toothless old
lady blow smoke in your face for two hours and see how your attitude
changes.
