Remember the Sands

I know the Sands was an hour and half away from
Laughlin, but knowing this group, you probably
all played there at one time!
So, the question is about the Sands mugs.
My neighbor wants to know if they are worth
anything or should he put them in his garage sale?
Anyone know of a website for this stuff I could give
him?
Sorry for the off topic! Colin

Hi Colin,

You obviously know us well! I picked up many many Sands mugs in
many different incarnations and got rid of them all. Now that I'm
older I'm feeling nostalgic, so I'm buying them whenever I see them
at thrift stores and garage sales. I use a Sands mug every morning
for my coffee.

My thought is that there were so many thousands of those mugs out
there that they won't be worth anything for another 20-30 years. I
usually check out eBay to see if things I think are worth something
are actually selling and then decide if it goes in the yard sale or
not. The real question: did your neighbor keep one of the cards
that described the promo, i.e. take this to Club Sands for a free
mug? Now that may be worth something.
