Reel Deal Poker by Aristocrat

I saw this at an Indian casino recently. I did not write down the pay table, but I can get it if anyone's curious. The way it goes is if you get trips or better, the machine goes into spin-mode with these three reels that have either a wild symbol, a red seven, or a blue seven, or a blank. I think three of anything multiplies the payoff by 2X, three red sevens by 5X, and three Wilds by 10X.

It was kind of interesting. They had them for quarters, and dollars. My question is, has anyone else ever seen these or played them? I tried to google them and didn't see anything. Looked on the Aristocrat site, couldn't find anything.

By the way, I am guessing the reels act like your typical slot machine, in other words, the result is determined right when you click them, not when they stop. Anyway, I was just looking for some more info on these. Thanks if anyone can offer some info.

They came out about 10 years ago as I recall. I know they had them at Copa in Biloxi and Four Queens still had them a couple of years ago by the $1 10/7 DB Progressive bank. I believe the bonus reel portion acts like a slot with no published information on average return, making them unplayable except for entertainment.

These have been out a lot longer than ten years. I remember seeing info that
the "full pay" 8-5 version is about 99.0% but I cannot verify that. I have
seen this game as 8-5 and 7-5.

Yes, I have played these machines at the Edgewater in Laughlin, NV and Harrah's
Ak-Chin in Phoenix, AZ. They no longer have these machines on the floor at both
locations. The reels would be activated on the machines at Harrah's whenever you
were dealt or drew a straight or better. The reels would be activated on the
machines at the Edgewater whenever you were dealt a four of a kind or better.

On more than one trip I received double and five times on the Royal Flushes.
Never got the ten times multiplier on the Royal but did on several occassions on
four of a kind.

You could push the button to stop each of the three reel symbols individually or
the machine would stop the spinning reels after about 5 seconds or so.

The paytables were not that hot on the machines, but they were a lot of fun.

First, I want to thank everyone for the responses. And this is interesting, because as I mentioned, the machines I saw tripped the spin mechanism on TRIPS or better. Seems like that would be more significant than the pay table. Anyway, you're right, Richard, they were fun.

I verified today there are still a few of these $1 machines in the Spacequest Casino at Las Vegas Hilton. They are the type that spin on trips or better but the paytable is a horrible 8/5 JoB that pays 1:1 on two pair and 2:1 on trips. FWIW the help screen says copyrighted in 2003, but I'm still pretty sure I saw them in Biloxi prior to that.

That sounds like the ones I saw. I just got back from there about a half hour ago, and I forgot to check them. In fact, I even went upstairs for that reason, and then got sidetracked. I guess I'm getting old, hard to stay focused sometimes.

Thanks again.
