Red Rock TITO Fiasco

Today I pulled my self away from the Hilton Long enough to give the
Red Rock station some carded action on the FPDW games.( being that
it was a 3X points day and all). And as karma fate or the stars
would have it I was lucky enough to it hit the quad deuces twice in
as many Hours. Seeing that it was time to pick up my free set of
pinking shears from the free stuff booth. I happily ticket out in
the amount of $750. as usual I recorded my time, profit loss and
point accumulation info in my poket note book and head off to ticket
redemption kiosk #11.

Upon arriving at the kiosk I do as I usually do and placed my ticket
face up into the bill acceptor. Again as usual I receive a small
but nice pile of American grassbucknicks. Afterwhich I smiled then
moved over to the prog. JW machines nearby to set my backpack down
and get out my wallet. deftly I count down the booty from today's
session and was aghast to find that the machine had only paid me
$650. after checking and double checking I head right back to the
#11 kiosk not 5 strides away.

After quickly reading the warning posted on the machine I do as
instructed adn flag down the nearest slot ambassadore to recount my
plight. She was helpful enough to send a floor person over to see if
I can get helped out if not financially remunerated.

The floor person arrived quickly and stuck her card into the machine
and brought up a list of recent tito/ cash transactions that the
machines had done, Alas there was no record of my transaction. since
I was only 99% sure I was at the right kiosk so, she checked to
second one same result then the third same result. Events were not
revealing themselves in my favor.

After a minute or two a full blown suit showed up and preformed much
the same exercise again, no dice. Not to be deterred by unfavorable
circumstance the original slot person and I made our way over to the
machine I had been playing. Sure enough there was the cash out info
showing a $750 tickted cashout. With a quick flick of the wrist and
turn of a hidden key she popped up a screen showing all the past 50
or so cash outs on that machine. There it was, plain as the nose on
your face, a $750 cash out at precisely 11:58. After noting the
ticket number we hurried back to the redemption kiosk where the
other troops were waiting.

The suited gentlelman took the info and announced that they needed
to go to the EZ pay terminal to check the status of the ticket.

After an additional 10 minutes or so the suited gentleman John
returned and told me they couldn't find any evidence of the ticket
in the cash out system. Oh great I thought. afterward he took my
boarding pass number and telephone number and told me that when they
found something out they would call me. Also that either way I would
be contacted (now Im really nervious. images of flatnosed casino
toughs in black suits with bulges under their arms filled my mind.
Somehow I managed to say "that's fine and that I live only a few
blocks away and planned on playing there during the next few days".

As John turned away the slot floor person told me that tonight the
count would likely show a $100 overage. I added that in fact that It
may show a $650 underage if in fact the ticket somehow didn't
register.

Well needless to say I am hoping that I will get my rightful $100
but have resigned myself to the great possibility that it will be
yet another $100 loss my Bankroll will have to absorb.

The moral to this story is although these machines rarely make
mistakes they are not infallible. Also my experiance should urge you
to always count your money after using the ticket redemption
machines. And even when you do count your money Do not count on
getting your just deserts When if it is wrong.

We all know how hard it is to stayinfront of these machines. that
being said I fully intend to use the cashiers cage for ALL my
transaction from this point forward. IT may take a bit more time but
at least in this case you will avoid any addidtional time and money
consuming TITO fiasco.

Timmer - i do hope you get your money. I make it a point to count my money in plain site of the camera before I leave the ticket machine, and wont leave the machine till its 100% correct. Its a shame that there are so many "Johnny waste-times..JWT's" using these machines, that it forces us serious players to compensate by not counting there and then to make up for lost waiting time. I have actually seen a JWT, put in 20 5 dollar bills one at a time, so that they could get 100 $1 bills out of the machine ( Penny-slot frugal person, bill collector or crackpot ? ).

regards..Tom

Did they check the stack of paid paper TITO's in the
machine? The machine keeps the paper ticket when it
pays.

Havent heard from the red rock slot managers office today in
reference to their TITO failure @ kiosk #11 so I called at 12:28 pm
today and left a message.

I hope to hear back shortly.

I intend to keep a journal of this adventure on here so you will all
know the outcome of this thing and how Red Rock Station handles such
problems .

This is precisely why I will only use the machines to cash out small
tickets. For any significant amount, I go to a live person at the
cashier. Whatever time you might have saved from dozens of previous
cashouts at the machines is now lost due to this one malfunction.
