Apparently this is only Red Rock, no other Station properties - at Red
Rock now you have to use your points for everything this applies to
everyone no matter how big you play.
Red Rock has eliminated discretionary comps for slot players
I guess this is why they refused me a measly food comp last time I was
there. The silly thing is that they made me jump through all these
hoops...go to the front desk, go to the players club desk, go back to the
front desk, wait half an hour, and then no comp. I was not happy, and I¹ve
redirected a portion of my play elsewhere in return.

Nice job Nathan. I have done the same thing. The pros might gasp,
but I like a variety of games on one machine. 9/6 Jacks; 8/5 Bonus;
9/6 Bonus Deluxe; 10/7 Double Bonus; and 9/6 Double Double Bonus. Oh
lordy, I am giving up 1% long term. I don't care. All I know is the
Rampart is the only close by place that offers what I want. With
cashback, freeplay, and food comps, maybe they are clipping me 50
basis points. I can only think about some of the comments in this
Group about the "burn out artists" allegedly wearing "catheters";
and there is no way I am going to attach a tube to myself for 50 or
75 freaking basis points.
Red Rock has the the great DB and DDB games, but JOB and BP Deluxe
are weak; plus, casino floor drink service is at best average. For
the flagship of the Station chain, the place is an embarassment.
Lot's of staff doing nothing; once the buyout is complete, goodbye
excess staff.
I guess this is why they refused me a measly food comp last time I

Your not the only one to abandon Red Rock. I'm an out of towner and
had stayed at RR twice before-- on my third visit, I made a
reservation with a senior host for 2 nights in a signature suite,
comped based upon my previous play. My reservation request and reply
from the host were via email. I called the VIP number to
confirm....few weeks later I show up and they have me reserved for a
regular room-- I said I should be in a signature suite and the check
in clerk at VIP reservations says "no you aren't". I pull out my
email and they STILL WOULD NOT HONOR my reservation request. They
call the senior host- I tell him about how he confirmed 2 nights for
the suite and HE WOULD NOT HONOR my reservation-- but they'd give me
the second night for "only" $250! I was disgusted and should have
walked out but I was hosting some friends so I took the room. Not a
great way to start one's trip. A few other notes regarding RR:
-The VIP check in clerks are cold, and sometimes downright rude.
-RR has a coffee and beverage bar in the VIP check in lounge. Every
time we went down for coffee, the urn would be empty. I would notify
the VIP check in people and they'd say "It is? Go to starbucks
upstairs. It will take about an hour or so for them to bring more."
An hour? Are they growing the coffee beans???
-NONE of the jacuzzis by the pool were working.
-The pool entrance near the food court electronic door did not work
so you had to hike it to another entrance to get in.
-The rates for a cabana were outrageous-- $350 for a Friday morning!
The place was empty-- maybe 2 or 3 being used. Why charge so much?
-Service at many of the restaurants were mediocre at best. People
who work at Terra Rossa have got to be some of the most unpleasant
around.
-Even drink service was bad. Seems like the same waitress had to
work half the casino floor.
Anyhow, I won't be back. I remember hearing they were trying for a
AAA five diamond award--- with that kind of service, they'll be lucky
to get 3.

Funny thing is, I received a generic email from the GM¹s office at Red Rock
asking for guest feedback...you know...one of those ³tell us about your
stay² emails. So, I replied to it and outlined my entire experience. Poor
service at Hachi (my wife received her entrée about 15 minutes after the
rest of us at the table had finished eating), poor service at checkin (I
received a dirty room and had to trek down to the front desk to get
another...no apology, no upgrade, nothing), and poor service at checkout
(the comp runaround that resulted in nothing). I received no reply within
about two weeks, so just for kicks, I resent the email again. This time, I
get a call from someone at the resort: ³I just wanted to call and thank you
for your comments.² Again, no apology, no offer to try to make me happy,
nothing.
BTW, I wanted to use a pool Jacuzzi, too. I was told they were switched off
on purpose by engineering because of ³too many kids playing in them.²
Red Rock might have a lot of potential...but that¹s about all it
is...(unrealised) potential. It¹s not worth it.

All of us like to gamble. If you didn't, you wouldn't be reading this
post right now. It is your choice.
It is also your choice not to patronize any casino that disrespects
you and does not appreciate your business.
I know it is difficult to "walk away" when you have a history with a
place. But, believe me, it can get worse, And the only way to send a
signal to management is to play elsewhere.
Ask any of us "Caesars Refugees" about that.

As a half-time local I have had problem with Red Rock also. One Sunday
morning after waiting 1/2 hour occasioned by a benjy mis-feed in one
of the optimum machines, I had to call their main number by cell to
request an attendant, luckily it was not a dead cell area of the
casino.
In retrospect, the deterioration at Red Rock is not surprising.
Judging by the size of the investment and the mediocre business
traffic, the property can hardly be living up to financial
expectations. Evidently management is attempting to cut costs to firm
up numbers and cut red ink. Of course, this is a very nearsighted
tactic and will result in further financial deterioration. However
until top management at the Station chain writes off some of its
investment and operates the property to the best way possible without
looking to return on over valued investment and debt, I agree things
may continue downhill.
In the meantime, the takeout counter at the coffee shop has excellent
cakes (with a discount applied when paying with points) and the steak
house is first rate.

Red Rock is certainly into cost cutting. Here is a small example.
The monthly mailer in September had a food coupon for the buffet or
Cafe. So I walk in whatever day it was and see over 100 people
waiting in line for the buffet. That's not for me, so the Cafe it is.
Seated quickly; no server for seven minutes. No big deal. I chose
the Corned Beef Hash. It was $7.99 in August. Now $8.99. Used to be
three eggs. Now two eggs. Used to offer toast OR biscuits & gravy.
Now just toast.
And that is just one example of how they do it. Fertitta Colony
Partners will soon close on the buyout. Wouldn't it be a shame if
the whole debt-laden buyout went down in flames? And they are
bulding Alliante Station; what idiot did the demographics of the
nearby areas?

Thought I would bring this thread back up, as I replied to this back
in Oct. about RR comps.
Just got back again on the 19th. We stayed 2 nights at RR and 2 at GVR.
Up until Oct. we've been given RFB and a suite at both resorts. This
trip after checking out at RR, I saw my point count of about 350K
dropped to about 170K, so figured that the points were deducted for
food this time based on this thread's discussion.
At check out at Green Valley Ranch we were told that a host on duty
would review our bill and adjust it and that our own host would also
take a look. To my surprise when we got home our GVR credit card
charge was billed $380 higher than expected. I contacted my host who
said it was for food charges which we've never paid for before and our
heavy VP play this time was at the very least equal to the past
visits, so I've now requested that we use our points to pay for the
food charges. Haven't heard back, so we shall see.
So my question is: has Green Valley Ranch now gone the way of Red
Rock and guests who were once given full RFB now must use points for
comps?
