Opened last night, 12/17. 2000 slots, 75 table games. About 5 mi S of
Placerville on HWY 50, Red Hawk Parkway exit -- too new to be on my GPS. About 10 -
15% of mach are vp, none better than 7-5 BP.
Of all the large casino openings that I've been to, this was the least
crowded on opening night. There was a large enough crowd so that I didn't get to
see at least 80% of machines (was there only 40 minutes since I couldn't get to
a lot of machines). Service in high limit was so slow that 5 machines in a
row were waiting for W2G service. People told me that they'd been waiting half
an hr. That's the way to treat your best customers. It was supposed to be
VIP invitation only on 1st night but wasn't. Took only 15 minutes from freeway
to find parking space behind maybe 8 others ahead of me. I'm sure slow
economy & threat of storms kept people away.
Due to pay tables, recommend continuing to go to Reno/Tahoe. I wish
Reno/Tahoe would wake up to the fact that they have fairer games & much better comps
& advertise that fact. For some reason, they don't want to compete on that
basis. Meanwhile their California market share inevitably shrinks while they
fight over the lower-margin local business.
