Just as a note... when I was at the Imperial Palace one night late an
employee came around writing down info from a series of screens he brought up
on the moniter. One one of the screens was the hold for each type of game
the machine offered. I was able to see the numbers from the machine on
either side of me and the one two down. For JOB (all that I tried to
remember), the theoretical hold number given was 1.16% to 1.23%. My guess is
that this number is a blending of all of the bets placed on that game in that
machine Quarter and Half 8/5 and Dollar 9/6 as well as short coin plays. The
actual holds were 2.81%, 2.83% and 3.11%. The amount played on each of these
machines in the JOB was over $250,000. so it provided a good sample. Looks
to me like about 1.7% is lost through less than optimal play. These MGMD (7
poker choices) have 12 games on including Keno (which is the only other
numbers I could remember) with a theoretical hold about 12.5% on each machine
but an actual hold of 20.1% down to a -1.3& on one. Just some fun facts!!!
