I live within an hour's drive of about six casinos. Two in IL, and 4
in Indiana. I've never played the Majestic Star in Indiana at all, so
I decided to take an early morning trip there.
Woke up at 3:30 in the morning, and left my house at 10 to 4. No
traffic on interstates 57 or 80, so it took me only 45 minutes to make
the trip[ from Kankakee. Got to the MS, and proeded to the Video
Poker machines in the Don and Mike's sports bar. Spent about an hour
there, on a $50 buy in. Played about $750 through the VP machines (It
was aJacks or Better 9/6 penny hundred play, and some more play on the
Multistrikes behind me.). Left the machine about $25 down. Not bad.
I then went down to the craps table, and took that $25 and an
additional 50 and bought in. Lost it almost instantaneously. almost
decided leaving tha boat at that point, then I saw a decent BJ table.
six deck shoe, 3:2 on BJ's dealer stands all 17's. Bought in for
$50. Not only did I get make my $150 back, but topped it off with a
$100 profit, AND a $10 comp to the snack bar (Nothing like a double
meat italian beef sandwich with hot peppers at 7:30 in the morning!).
Was a profitable trip (and no card counting!)
