Recent offers from Reno joints

From what I’ve seen the amount of freeplay you receive is based on three things. From most important to least important:

  1. How much you actually lose during the month

  2. How much you theoretically lose based on coin-in combined with game payback

  3. Coin-in

I’m confused. (I’m also no expert on the Nugget.)

I guess you are saying that the John’s comps (and not just free play) are earned at different rates depending on the type (EV) of the machine played? I haven’t explored that.

I’ve seen $30K ci cited as the qualification for the top $175 FP mailer. However, I would guess that this amount would vary by machine – where machines rated with thinner holds would require higher play, and v.v.

If I had to set a benchmark, my guess would be that earning $100 in John’s $'s (comps) on play would meet the threshold. It would not surprise me if Haaljo’s NSUD play fell short of that mark.

Generally speaking, there’s little about JANugget that’s compelling by itself. However, if I’m motivated to a Reno trip by other factors and can break free for a day at JANugget, I think it’s generally a rewarding play.

I really like the hospitality and employees there (although I find that to be true of most any Reno casino I’ve played to date … the folks in Reno just simply are friendly

For JANugget:

I think $30k was too low in the Quarterly “cycle” to accumulate the max offer. (or perhaps you THOUGHT you put through that amount, but it was slightly lower?)

As for the “max” offer at JANugget…that $175 offer IS the max offer a slot/vp player can recieve (Table players can recieve $400 in “promo” chips; but those are only really worth $200)

However, Carlton Greer is taking over on 12/15/13, so who knows what is going to happen

(I do know they’re going to a “tiered” card, as well as changing how comps are earned)

In 3 days in September I ran a little less that $60,000 total coin in playing NSUD. I received for December and January the usual max offer of $175 free play at 2 different times a month, 3 day segments for free rooms, some free food and offers for tournaments I have no interest in. (Although since the free play offer is only for 2 months rather than 3 it's not really the max offer.)
Since I'm out of town, I will only be able to take advantage of one $175 free play per month which makes the Nugget less attractive given its location.

Of course $1 JOB 9/6 has a theo loss o f $18.24 per hour ($4,000 coin in) while $1 NSUD has a theo loss of $10.86 per hour.

Theo aside, I hit 2 Royals.

That seems an unusually week offer from Nugget ... although might be consistent if you opt for NSUD play. I typically play Jacks, finding stronger comp earnings (which can be redeemed 2:1 as FP on last Wednesdays), and have been generally satisfied with the play prospects to the extent that I try to fit in a 1 or 2 night stay the couple of times a year I hit Reno from the east cost.
Re Siena, I had a brief flirtation. But as soon as I had a winning trip, they reduced me to $5 FP despite something on the order of a $30K ci day.

I’m not sure that win/loss is most important, although it may be a factor when a player otherwise falls short of criteria for the top mailer.

I have an overall winning history at JANugget to date (4 visits) and have consistently qualified for the top mailer.

I agree…with what I’ve seen (and I’ve been playing consistently at JANugget for 6 years)

They really don’t care if you win/lose, as long as you cycle through “coin-in”.

However, there didn’t USE to be different earning on each machine…but a few years ago, they changed that.

The worst I’ve seen for video poker is .18%, while the best I’ve seen is .5%

As Vp_Wiz said, as long as you earn $100 per month (best to do it in ONE session) in Club dollars (base amount; not with the 3x multiplier) you’ll be good.

Also, as Vp_Wiz said…there’s nothing really “compelling” to go over to JANugget for…

I’m not sure that win/loss is most important, although it may be a factor when a player otherwise falls short of criteria for the top mailer.
