Had a very strange trip to the Sun last weekend. I was playing DDB in the old poker room on a machine that's been good to me with multiple quads in the past. I had a series, 3 or 4 hands in a row, with pairs/trips 5's. The string was broken, but I felt I was going to get quad 5's - then 2 hands later quad 5's. A short while later, it repeated with Aces - 2 pairs in a row, trips, the feeling: Aces nothing, nothing, quad Aces. Them about 20 minutes later, it happened again, with 7's. Half an hour later, trip Aces, pair, trips, feeling, nothing, nothing, quad Aces again.
OK, so pretty weird right? The bride is sitting next to me, playing at the 20-cent level, and she gets 4 to the royal in clubs, and she nudges me to show what she's going for. Her pull was the 2 of diamonds, and I said, "tough break, must be waiting for me to hit the royal." No more than 10 hands later, I'm dealt the AKJ10 of clubs, and I just knew I was going to pull the Queen. And sure enough, up pops the lady. I hadn't even nudged the bride, I was so sure I was going to hit. Her first clue was the music going off.
That was pretty much the end of it, no more weird feeling something was going to hit, just regular play for the rest of the trip. But I kept looking around for Rod Serling to show up.
