Got a Club Grazie invitation yesterday for "Blush of Spring".
Saw the $2,500 "buy-in" about a paragraph down (uh oh).
50 participants (if they actually limit it to that), and half get no worse than $5,000 in slot credits as a "prize" (if you can call spending $2,500 to get $5,000 in slot credits a prize). A full 80% of the 25 winners will get only that.
So how do I win? One entry for showing up, then an additional entry for every 10,000 points earned.
O.K., I'm in.
No, wait - haven't I been reading here on vpFREE about point changes?
Ah... and now I see a little section at the bottom of the offer.
"Please be advised" ... and then I read some confusing mumbo-jumbo about stand-alone 9/6 Jacks, and Tier 1 games, and Tier 2 games (what could those be?) plus multi-play blackjack and, getting to the point before I lose you, it might take up to $21 coin-in to earn just a single point.
My head is spinning. Isn't coming to Vegas supposed to be FUN? This is already hard work! But I take a stab at the math.
So... if I want more than my one entry in that big drawing drum it will take me up to $210,000 coin-in just to earn an additional one. On a 99.54% game I would lose about $1,000 playing perfectly in the long run to get that extra entry.
But I see high rollers with HANDSFUL of entry tickets at these events. It looks like I would run out of money long before even having a fighting chance of being competitive.
I guess this wasn't my "dream" offer after all.
And I'm getting a little concerned. 16 months and counting since my last Venetian stay. And with promotions like this I'm really starting to think they may never get me back.
