Subject: Re: I Just Have to Say It

The problem with Bob is that he takes a consulting gig, really player-unfriendly
things happen. After landing the gig at Cannery/Rampart, several accounts were
pulled. Not before, not six months after, but within a few weeks.

Admin makes a good point, but I focus solely on what happens after Dancer takes
a consulting gig. Nothing more. Admin looks at the entire picture, which is
correct, but I'm only concerned with the before and after pictures after a
casino retains Dancer's services.

It's always been that way with him. Bob claimed in his autobiography that he'd
never give up a player. Those were his words. Yet, at least two incidents come
to mind, one when he was consulting for a tribal casino in MI, and once at the
Palms, where he outed a guy to management, where there were several eyewitnesses
(ummm, think most of the LVA gang). This particular AP is just a phenomenal
talent; Bob was being just a jealous little boy about this. It was chickenshit
of Bob to do this, but that's the way he is. And this is why he gets called out
on this. Especially since the AP in question was minding his own business (ok,
maybe he was clocking the shuffle lol) and got trespassed.

So, putting the last two paragraphs together, that's what I came up with. While
history is clearly on my side in this matter, let's be clear I'm speculating.

I mean, I can do what Bob does a lot better, and never have to back anyone off.
Of course, my fees would probably be more expensive.

Finally, up until recently, it has been stupid easy to make money, or least get
to breakeven, playing VP. That's kind of the problem. While I concede quite a
bit of it is the economy, what I'm seeing out there is quite a few desperate
people looking for the last rodeo. The fact that there is nothing really
playable right now in either Vegas or AC, at least and not get tossed, is
putting pressure on those players willing to travel to smaller markets, and
frankly, those markets can't take that kind of action.

People in Vegas are talking about .4, yes, point-four, as if it's like 2%.
That's where we're at.

I was on a play recently, one which was good for the year I had free rein to it,
and eventually a) became too hard to get on, and then b) really nasty from what
I heard. Like 35 pros fighting for 3 seats. But someone who showed up late to
the party actually had the nerve to complain to me about it being crowded. You
can guess which state he's licensed to drive in, and guess which state the play
is not located in. And you know how I feel about those people, although this guy
seems nice enough. I mean, you moved to Vegas so you could play every joint
there, isn't 70 casinos or so good enough for you?

I tend to look at these things philosophically and try to figure out the next
move, but in this instance, there really is none. That's kind of the problem.

Factual posts and posts that express an opinion are, and
have always been, OK.

Untrue or speculative posts that are presented as facts
aren't OK.

When a post states as a fact that someone is outing specific
players to casinos, which is doubtful and probably
unverifiable, it requires documentation.

Most of the Dancer bashing is based on paytables getting
worse and players getting no mailed or trespassed at
casinos where he consulted. This reasoning isn't very
convincing since players also got no mailed and vp has been
getting worse at a lot of casinos where Dancer didn't
consult.
