Re using multiple cards

I'm going to avoid the semantic responses against NOTI & just say that at
one time husband & and wife were permitted to be on the same account using the
same card (referring to casinos in general). Then one day it changed so that
we had to have separate cards.

A lot of people advised having separate cards anyway so that you could get
multiple offers thus leveraging the benefits of the promotion. This would be
good if you both gambled but worked against you if only one gambled as in my
case. So whenever my wife goes on a trip without me, it causes a problem when
the casino restricts comp usage to the actual card holder since she cannot
access my comps. That's why I miss the old days. Fortunately, many casinos don't
have this restriction or don't enforce it & whenever I mention it most have
volunteered to work around it. I'm sure the work-around is due to consistent
play & because I ask infrequently.

I've always wondered why the change? The reason I was given was because it's
the law. However, I think the real reason is to generate more play. Yes,
there might be a law but what are they protecting against especially if they
have the consent of both spouses?

For one thing, "spouse" is not currently well defined. But I think the
overall issue is that all US casinos are now subject to the Bank
Security Act, just as Banks are. If you want multiple access to a Bank
account, you have to do a joint account agreement, or something
similar. Casinos currently have no such arrangement, but maybe they
will work something similar out. Generally, technically, according to
the rules, you must play only on your account, otherwise the casino
has grounds to dispute outcomes, as Bob Dancer found out:

http://www.casinogaming.com/columnists/dancer/2008/0812.html

In practice, many people play on spouse's cards, or significant
others, or ex-spouses, or friends and family ...

If you read Dancer's "Million Dollar Video Poker", he mentions how
someone with a passport or multiple names can have multiple accounts.
It is certainly possible to have multiple driver's licenses and
multiple ssn's.

For a while there was talk of using iris identification ...

How easy would it be to just use your own card. Maybe I'm in the
minority here but, yes, casino's are in business to make money. All
busines's are that way. So, instead of trying to "one up" the
casinos, why not just do things by the rules. Maybe that way we could
get back to some decent paytables on our favorite games. I'm not a
pro, I have a job. I go to Reno for relaxation and that's all I want
is to relax. It just seems that some of the "gamblers" out there are
ruining things for the entertainment gamblers. Just my opinion.

LOL! But seriously now, do you have a local address in Laughlin?

I don't understand that one?? I live in Washington state. What does
Laughlin have to do with VP in Reno?? As usual, your posts confuse me.
