At Palms you can take a free shuttle at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 pm, 2:30, 4:30,
6:30 which goes to Fashion Show mall or Caesars. Return times about :40.
Cheapest way to get downtown is to go out front of Palms to Rt. 202 bus
stop. Pay $2.50 for a round trip ticket (good for 24 hrs), take 202 and get off
at Swenson (next major block after Paradise and Terribles Casino) - there is
a Jack in the Box on Corner. Cross street (heading toward Hilton and
downtown), and get Rt. 108 toward downtown. (Note the 108 runs to the airport in
the other direction - making for very cheap airport transport if you want it).
2nd best way is to pay $2.50 for round trip pass, but get off at Las Vegas
Blvd. (the strip) at corner of Bally's. Cross street to go in front of the
Flamingo, get on bus stop there for the Deuce double decker bus. You will have
to pay an extra $.50 each way for Deuce. Note: The traffic on the strip
is now terrible and very slow - so the Deuce will be very slow.
If you start at strip or downtown, the round trip ticket starting on Deuce
costs $5.00. They charge extra for deuces over "regular" local buses.
These round trip tickets are good for 24 hours, so if you plan things right,
you can use them the next day as well.
I don't recommend taking a Taxi to downtown from Palms. Too expensive.
Take the local bus or Deuce and sightsee.
Rt. 202 runs every 15 min. Rt. 108 runs every half hour. Deuce runs
approximately every 10-15 minutes - best seat from top of bus; these strip buses
sometimes get very crowded.
