Re Palms service - Friday is always the bad day due to a number of people
cashing checks. Also it is a crowded day in general so lines tend to be long.
If you are there at other times everything is fine.
Service people are quite friendly there and usually service is good. With
the recent scratch promotion service at machines was sometimes fast, sometimes
slow depending on the number of players.
Since Palms is getting a lot of publicity for Rain and Ghostbar, there can be
long lines to these places on weekends or if a band is playing. Also weekend
traffic, as in most casinos in town, tends to make for longer lines
everywhere.

Re Robbery for W2Gs - don't worry about it from your name being bandied
about. The thing to worry about is being handed any cash or cashing out any
amounts anywhere. Always watch out for people who might be watching you. If you
have any doubts, ask security for an escort to your car, taxi, or bus. If you'd
prefer a check, and the casino refuses, tell them of your security concerns
and ask if there might not be some way to make an exception, or where you can
purchase travelers checks or money orders (and go by taxi).
Also you can put money in room safes. You can also put money in a casino lock
box (ask at the cashier/cage). This way if you get a large sum you can
temporarily store it in the box and then come back and get money out a little at a
time (the lock box/safety deposit box in casino is free). Just don't forget
about your money! One time we left $6000 in a room safe and checked out. We
remembered about 20 minutes later, went back to the hotel, and found our money.
After that if we left items in the safe we wrote notes to ourselves.
