There are signs at Harrah's (over the stations where they do the swiping), and on Thursday, I was told by staff at the various properties where I swiped. The folks at Caesars told me that they would be giving out logo merchandise instead of the vouchers -- and that they weren't sure what they would be giving out, as they had a choice of four items to offer and CP hadn't finalized its decision yet. Of course, this reminded me of the Treasure Hunt promo, and I started wondering if the properties would just start distributing left-over treasure chests <g>.
If you look at the promo rules, there's no mention of food vouchers -- they talk about the swipe prizes and the grand prizes. The food vouchers were a way to get people excited about the promotion and a real way to get them into the properties.
It's been interesting to watch how the promo unfolded. When it first launched, I won something just about evey day that I swiped... Between my hubby and I, we won points worth hundreds of comp dollars, over $100 in cash, several pairs of buffets, plus some useless fun books. After Memorial Day, the daily swipe prizes were tightened, and we didn't win anything from swiping until last week. During June, the only prizes we saw others win from the swipes were fun books, although one fellow in line at Harrah's told me that he had won points worth $25 comp dollars. Concurrent with learning that the vouchers were not going to be distributed in the future, we started seeing people win at the swipes again (and my hubby won some additional cash and two more buffets).
My guess is that if HET sees that swipes are below the projected number, they'll boost the swipe prizes and vice versa.
Regardless, the vouchers are usable until October.
I hope this helps.

I understand they may stop giving out those 3 Million meal coupons (and
presumably stop the swipe) on this Sunday. I didn't notice any sign at Caesars,
but it could be that they are stopping it. Coupons continue to be useable
until Oct. apparently.
