re Harrahs New Orleans

Regarding the Penthouse suite at Harrahs New Orleans - I don't know what
this refers to exactly, but a warning if you are put into one of the suites
on the Suite Floor (26th I think). The rooms look beautiful, there is a
butler, and there are high ceilings. That's the good. The bad is, because
of high ceilings we found the room extremely noisy due to the condensers on
the roof. My husband is a sound sleeper, so didn't notice, but I am a
light sleeper and the sound wouldn't stop. Part of it was from the air vents
from the airconditioning, part was from the roof. I ended up switching to
another room.

The TV reception was also horrible, and couldn't be fixed, don't know why.

We have had so many noisy experiences in the Harrahs New Orleans hotel, we
are now staying at one of the partner hotels.

It's strange, for a while I could only get into the partner hotels. My wife and I thought they were great, we were happy! Now I can only get into Harrah's and no partner offers. After a couple of stays in Harrah's, I'm begging to get back to the Big Easy hotels.

May I ask which partner hotel you prefer? We have only stayed in Harrahs the two times we were there. (did not personally have noise issues) But we are trying to go in March and I thik Harrahs hotel may be sold out so may have to go with a partner hotel. Prefer to be able to walk home from the casino even late at night...sometimes play till 3-4am.
thanks
Trish

I liked the Riverside Hilton very much.

I stayed at the Hilton once. Room was way too small. One pool was shut down and the other wasn't kept up very well. Plenty close to casino to walk at night.
Never had a noise problem at Harrah's hotel.

Hilton Riverside because of the River views and Drago's downstairs... Fantastic food! Double Tree is close but sure isn't much of a Hotel. Haven't stayed at Weston. We like the Marriott if we plan on spending more time in the quarter than the casino, but its a long walk; real long at 3 am.

The best palce we have stayed other than the Harrah's Hotel is the Wiindsor Court - suites are really nice. Casino is across the street.

We have stayed at Loews and it is also very nice - accross from the Casino.

Only problem at Harrah'd was close to Christmas when we were on the Fulton side of the hotel and Christmas music was playing all night.
