First, looks like Gold Coast will have 8Xpts 8am-8pm on 8/8/08 for everyone.
Also a Lion dance in the casino 8pm & 11pm.
Sometimes a very bad mailer from GC can be not quite all that bad. This
month I only got $5 free play or $5 food credit each week. But the $5 food
coupon can also be used for 2 free buffets - obviously a lot better than $5 off!
So My bad mailer actually gives us a total of 10 free buffets for the month
(those four $5 or buffets plus one coupon good for any 2 free buffets). The
$5 off/free buffets can't be used for Friday's seafood buffet though. Still,
not a bad deal since we like their buffet and they are close to where we
live.
On the other hand, my husband played some $2 and $5 VP there over the last 2
or 3 months. As a result, he got upgraded to EMERALD. The interesting
thing is, he played less than the $125,000 coin in "tier points" you need for
EMERALD. (I think he has under 80,000). But the letter says "You have achieved
Emerald status by reading 125,000 "tier points" during a 90-day period of
play. This status might also have been obtained by other factors, such as
average bet, length of play, game selection, denomination, and/or machine type.
Please remember, "tier points" differ significantly from "bonus points";
"tier points" have no redeemable value and can change daily, based on your play
within the last 90-days. Tier points earned more than 90-days ago fall off
and are replaced by tier points earned today. You can review your tier points
at any time, at the machine level, or by contacting your host."
With his EMERALD letter he also gets $50 in instant credits or $50 table
bet. A nice bonus.
With Emerald - all your base points are automatically tripled. I.E. You
end up getting the 3x points under the current system that EVERYONE used to get
under the old system (which were worth 3 times more than a current point).
Sapphire members only get an automatic 2x the current points.
I also noticed that my husband's good mailer has different (and more) days
with 5x and 4x points, than my bad mailer.
Between our two mailers we are going to be eating dinner at the GC about 10
times in August!
