I also took the offer of 5000 additional bonus (comp) points if I earn 5000
as an insult. Considering how much I've played - this was not generous.
Meanwhile, Gold Coast sent me a "free birthday dinner" offer - value $100
- and I didn't have to play more to use it. The Palms sent me a $50 coupon
good for food or spa or hair salon - again, no play required. Las Vegas
Hilton also offered me a free birthday dinner party and room. I played much
less at these casinos than Harrah's.
Of course 7* members do get an annual 'special dinner' of $500, plus the
annual trip. Still I think they would have been better off with no
"birthday" offer than this chintzy play 5000 get 5000 (value $50).
Of all my hosts, only one, Biloxi, phoned to wish me a happy birthday.
I'd only been to Biloxi for 1 day! Meanwhile I've spent a LOT of time in New
Orleans and Caesars Palace at Harrahs. No non-Harrahs hosts phoned or
sent personal birthday cards.
Interestingly, Rick Diaz, a independent host, sent a birthday card -- thing
is, I've never ever used his services! Nice way to advertise, and I will
definitely contact him if I need an independent host.
