Randomness, Intuition, and MS poker machines.

I don't think this is true either. My son was pretty good
at the "crane game". He'd get paid by other kids to
get a stuffed animal for them BUT he could NOT get every
stuffed animal in the bin. It would have to be at the
correct angle for the crane to work. He made tons of
money in the game rooms when he was a kid. . . . .

the crane doesn't grip equally on each drop. That is, it isn't a

matter of how you line up

your crane above its target, or how well the teeth fall over the toy

you are aiming for.

Instead, the machine is programmed to grip differently every 16th

play or so, so that the

vast majority of attempts go empty handed, no matter the "skill" you

so effectively

demonstrated as you lined the crane up for the kill.

This is not true. I know a Crane Game AP!
