Rampart vs GVR

I've never stayed at either but have played extensively
at both, and both are beautiful properties.

The only positive game at Rampart is 25c 10/7 DB,
but it has several 99.7% + games and also has 0.25%
cash back (plus 2x points a couple of days each week)
and also has various daily specials where you can redeem
points at favorable rates for buffets, gift cards and logo items.

GVR has more positive games but doesn't have cash
back. Both also have bounce back cash which is primarily
of interest to locals.

Ms. vpFREE really likes the GVR buffet and thinks that
Rampart's is OK. I like them both. We've never asked for
discretionary comps at either property.

Aside from Green Valley Ranch, I've been encouraged to consider
Rampart. It's another beautiful property, but even more a mystery to
us. Anyone play at both who'd care to contrast the two play
experiences as a guest?

Many thanks to the VPFree A. and the others who responded to this
thread (and Lolly, the comments about the limo experience may prove
among the more practical in the end  I'm really appreciative, guys.

If the trip becomes a reality, I suspect that GVR may hold the edge,
simply because of the FPDW offering (even if we have to play at 3am to
secure seats). In truth, sounds like additional out of pocket expense
at GVR may offset much of the advantage over NSUD at Rampart, but the
benefit of watching credits stay on the meter just a little while
longer adds a psychological punch. There's simply something very
satisfying about playing a superior game!

In fact, there's a lot of FPDW nostalgia value for Bev. Our first
experience with the game was a trip over to Rampart during an early
Strip stay -- back when it was the Regent, it was 2x points (or
higher), and $.50 FPDW was intact. (Ok, that makes it moderately
recent history, but we're relative LV newbies.) In her first hour of
play she nailed two sets of deuces, ever etching the game in her brain
as a "winning game". (She was a royal virgin at the time -- read that
in the appropriate context -- so combined, it was the highest jackpot
she had hit in her life to that point.)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the trip becomes a reality. We
should know shortly. Thanks!

It ain't that bad Harry! You'll be able to secure a seat 95% of the
time day or night. There's twenty machine for you to choose from.
