Rama Trip Report (Sat Oct 13 2007)

The 9/6 JOB in 3/5/10 Play (5 coin, 25c/50c/$1) is still there. While
they were largely unoccupied, the Triple Action machines were FULL. I
saw a guy hit a $12,000 Royal Flush in Triple Action mode!

Other observations:

The Multi-Play Blackjack machines have been shut down. They are being
replaced with Pick'em Poker (same wonderful cabinets!). The machines
weren't activated, so I don't know if Rama's Pick'em Poker will be
full pay.

One of the slot cashier stations has been torn down in order to make
way for an expanded Platinum Lounge.

MOST of the Blackjack and Spanish 21 tables now use shuffle machines.
Rama has a new kind of shuffle machine that takes the shoe BENEATH
the table to the dealer's left. These are NOT "Mindplay" tables, from
what I've observed, so don't worry.

One of the Roulette tables on the main casino floor is single zero
(0). $25 minimum bet.

Midi Baccarat is no longer offered in the high roller area. Baccarat
is still offered, but the dealer (not the players) deals the cards.

One of the Pai Gow Poker games offers the Fortune side bet.

Shuffle machines are now used in the poker room!

I hope this post is helpful. Replies appreciated.

Hi Cosmo,

I'm not too familiar with the 3/5/10 play or Triple Action machines.
Are there any advantages to playing one as opposed to the other?

Do you happen to know what denomination the new PKM's will be? If I
remember correctly I think I recall seeing $0.25, 0.50, 1.00 PKM's
there.

Thanks for the Rama report.

The 3/5/10 play machines have 9/6 job on them. Triple
Action is a horrid little money sucker with a very bad
E.V. (don't know exactly what it is though). You
normally only find triple action at Indian casinos,
the payoffs would embarrass any Nevada casino.

If the new Pick-ems are the same as the ones in the
adjoining machines they will be short pay with 50 cent
and dollar denominations and you can play 1 - 10 hands

at a time. Regards A.P. --- "Neil G." <urban_tale@yahoo.ca> wrote:

My responses follow...

The 3/5/10 play machines offer 9/6 (full pay) Jacks or Better video
poker. The Triple Action machines, while VERY popular, offer a TERRIBLE
game with a PB% below 90%!

Pick'em (short pay) is currently available at Rama on Bally Game Maker
machines, as well as "Pick a Pair", and "Poker for Dummies" (a Bonus
type of Pick'em.

The new pick'ems are $0.25, $0.50, $1, and $2. There are seven
different pick'em games offered - bonus poker, deuces wild, bonus
deuces, double double bonus, two types of joker poker, and standard
pick'em.

You can play up to ten coins, and up to ten hands at a time. I'm not
sure if you have to play max of either to get the best payouts (I
didn't take very good notes).

The only pay table I recorded was that for standard pick'em, since
that is the only one of the seven games I have much of a clue about.
The equivalent 5 coin payouts are:

royal flush 10000
straight flush 1200
quads 600
full house 100
flush 75
straight 60
trips 20
two pair 15
pr.nines or better 10

I believe this makes the game 98.17%.

The triple action return is terrible, but I don't believe it's that
terrible. I think somewhere in the 95-97% range is more likely - still
unplayable, in my opinion.

My understanding is that there is a series of renovations in the
works.

The sports lounge is now closed. The bar is still there, but the
area beyond it is boarded off. The area will accomodate a relocated
platinum lounge, once it is renovated.

A new circular bar is to be built in the middle of the casino.
Presumedly, once it is ready, the bar at the former sports lounge
will be closed, and, perhaps, the one along the west wall as well.

A new restaurant is under construction in the rotunda area, adjacent
to the hallway into the ballrooms.

I don't know what they plan for the area currently occupied by the
platinum lounge, nor how, if at all, they will replace the sports
lounge.
