My bonus cash has been reduced to .15 on the 10 coin Jacks and .38 on
9/7 db. Does anyone know what it is on the ms and stp machines?
Rama Bonus Cash
I originally posted something on this subject on Sunday. However, the
post appears to have disappeared into an electronic never-never land,
not to be seen again. If it does happen to pop up sometime, my
apologies for the duplication.
I understand that Casino Rama has a new slot director, Steve Wheel.
New management often feels the need to make changes, and this could be
why we are seeing so much video poker turmoil there at present.
I had not seen the drop in bonus cash reported by others until our June
20 Rama trip. Having played exclusively on the resurrected triple/five
play machines, I was rewarded with bonus cash of .15% rather than
the .45% to which I have become accustomed.
I discussed this with a host(ess), who looked up my records, agreed
that there had been a falloff, but having contacted people in the slot
department, advised that the amount I had received was, indeed,
correct. She was unaware of any changes to the bonus cash structure.
I pointed out that on June 20, I played the same games on the same
machines, with the same pay tables as in the past, but received only
1/3 the bonus cash.
The point I made to her, and to a player development analyst in a later
conversation was that either they had changed the bonus cash
calculation, or something wasn't working right and needed fixing.
I asked that they be honest, and tell me if bonus cash had been
reduced, so I could take that into account in deciding what and where
to play.
On July 5, we were at Rama again. The hose(ess) advised that she had
asked Steve Wheel to find me on the floor and discuss the issue with
me. Unfortunately, unknown to her, he was not in that day.
However, I did have an enlightening conversation with Doug McDonald
(not sure of correct spelling), whose position is, I believe, Manager
of Player Development. He told me that they had, indeed, been
reviewing bonus cash levels, and had decided to make some adjustments.
Unfortunately, this conversation took place just before dinner, and
just after cocktail hour, and I didn't think to ask why.
He also said that there had been a mistake in implementing the
adjustment on the triple/five play machines, and that the bonus cash
had been returned to a higher, but not quite as high as previous,
level. Our bonus cash for July 5 reflects that, at about .36% of
coinin.
One scary thing he said was that one option they considered was totally
eliminating bonus cash for video poker, and leaving bonus cash for
slots alone. Instead, I gather, they have reduced everything. I do
not know what the rates are on slots, or video poker other than what I
played.

Good information to have. Thanks .
This is another reason that I am giving more of my play to Casino Niagara.
Rama only becomes a good play if you make extensive use of the comps provided.
Niagara is cheaper on the comps but has better games and higher cashback.
Like all gambling it comes down to value to the individual player.
