Coupon runs are becoming more of a hassle than ever.
At Ellis Island, I had a placemat coupon ($5 MP) and an ACG $10 MP.? Pete, the cranky, 137 year old pitboss, walks over to me and looks at my coupons.? He says that I have to now bring the entire ACG book with me to use a coupon.? We discuss the stupidity of this for a minute, he is his usual cranky self, and he decides to do me a favor and let me use it 'this time'.? The funny thing is he tells me that next time I should bring the entire book.? Does that mean multiple uses are ok, just not on the same day?
Now, I already had the $5 placemat MP out and was dealt a 14 vs 10.? Pete comes over, says they don't take those anymore and pulls my match play off the felt, but leaves my original bet.? I said " You are going to change my bet in the middle of a hand?" and he says yes.? Then, in an all time brilliant statement, he says " You could still win or lose the original bet ".? I didn't even bother trying to explain it to him.? If it had been a $25 MP ( at EI?? Yeah, right), I would have called gaming.? Instead, I played the $10 ACG hit that one and cashed out.? Pete then says "Have a nice day".? I wanted to suggest he go do things that are physically impossible, but I didn't.
At Terribles, the dealer said that he didn't know if they were still taking the coupons.? I said you are already in the 2008 ACG so I don't see why not.
At Rampart, they would call out "Coupon in play".
At Bills, I talked the hot dog lady into accepting the free hot dog and beer coupon.? The beer was served in a plastic cup and Bill's looked pretty dead during the day.
I did stop by and talk to Liz at the slot booth.? She is now running the booth and Lisa Vios is somewhere else, out of state.? Now, I haven't played at Bill's ( or Barbary) in probably a year but when I walked up, she knew me by name and said if I ever needed a room, give her a call.? We talked about the demise of video poker at Bill's and we both agreed that Harrah's messed up a good thing.? Liz treats customers the way customers should be treated, like welcomed guests.? I just wish there was something to play there.
I picked up $250 in travel cash from Caesars and they did swipe my card to pick up the money.? I will check to see if this is a trip.
I had a few drinks at the circular bar in Wynn by the waterfall.? It's pricey but the view and people watching was great.? For you high enders, they do have a cognac by the glass for $695 and a niece Fuente Opus X cigar for $105.? So a smoke and a snort could set you back a grand. Wow.? I thought $51 for 3 Michelobs and 3 Absoluts at Caesars was a lot.
