Quick Quads

Hi Gang:
A friend recently asked me an interesting question and I thought I'd put it
out on these boards to see if the math experts out there could possibly
answer it for us.
We all know that there are 13 possible ways to be dealt a four-of-a-kind in
a non-wild game such as JOB, BP or DDB etc.
But, this friend, Hedy and I have been dabbling lately in Quick Quads
(Harrah's AC has one 50-play and one 100-play machine at the 1-cent, 2-cent,
nickel and quarter levels). His question to me was: "How many ways are there
to be dealt a four-of-a-kind in Quick Quads when playing a non-wild game?"
Good question, I said. I didn't have the answer, of course. Does anyone out
there know?
Thanks for your help.

There are actually 13 * 48 ways to make normal quads since the kicker can
be any of the 48 remaining cards.

I've never played this game, but I don't mind procrastinating for 5 minutes.

Off the top of my head. The number of quick quads is:

2: 4 * 6 (four ways to have trip 2's times six ways to have AA)
3: 4 * 16 (sixteen ways for A2)
4: 4 * (16 + 6) (sixteen ways for A3 and six ways for 22)
5: 4 * (16 + 16) (sixteen ways for 23 and sixteen ways for A4)
6: 4 * (16 + 16 + 6) (24, A5 and 33)
7: 4 * (16 + 16 + 16) (34, 25, A6)
8: 4 * (16 + 16 + 16 + 6) (35, 26, A7, 44)
9: 4 * (16 + 16 + 16 + 16) (45, 36, 27, A8)
10: 4 * (16 + 16 + 16 + 16 + 6) (46, 37, 28, A9, 55)

Sum them up you get:

4 * (6*5 + 16*20) = 1400 quick quad combos

This is in addition to the 13 * 48 = 624 standard quad combos

This would make quads on QQ machines roughly 3.25x more likely. Wizard of
odds quotes 2.7x so I probably messed up somewhere, though...
