Quick Quads Question

Yes, by all accounts you do need to do that. Which is why I asked the
original question (i.e. 'what is the ev if you just play regular BP strategy). I
asked, not because I intend to, but I want some sense of how costly these
mistakes are (since I have found that I either have to play far more slowly than
I'd prefer or just accept that I will occasionally miss one of the 'add them
up' two card kicker sets.

Soooo....does anyone know the answer to my original question?

Sept 9, 2008 Bob said "By far the biggest strategy change is "always hold a
kicker to TRIPS if it will help you." That is, from 7773K, hold 7773. Do NOT
hold kickers from pairs. And do not hold add-em-up cards to pairs such as
7743."

On Fed 10, 2009 he stated: "For me, one of the interesting features is
you're looking a lot more closely at the ranks of the throwaway cards than you
usually do. Normally if you're dealt 8862K in a video poker hand, you simply
hold 88, but here you hold 8862. You still play 8863K in the normal way, of
course, but you need to slow down a bit to differentiate between these two
hands."
