Quick Quads in Vegas

I just got a notification that Quick Quads VP will hit the floors in
several Vegas casinos this week (Fiesta, Harrah's, Red Rocks, Palace
station, Boulder Station...maybe a few others).

This is the game where if you have 99954, it counts as a Quad. It
costs 6 credits to play and get the QQ option...less will give you the
standard VP games.

You can currently play for free at www.VideoPoker.com. They are
having a contest of best score in 200 hands on 3-play QQ. I figure
the current high score is 16000 so you need a dealt 4000 coin and one
more 4000 coin.

Yes, you can play "for free" right now because of the contest.
However, if the contest were not in QQ's you would have to be a Gold
Member (i.e. pay $6 a month for Gold Membership) in order to play it
at all. That may change ( Action Gaming owns WWW.Videopoker.com )
when the machines actually hit the floors.

As for winning the contest...yep, you'll have to be dealt jackpot
hands on the 3-line contest machine. That's the way it has been with
all of the contests on VP.COM. There are so many playing the contests
that it is inevitable that SOMEONE is going to score the monster Dealt
hands and it takes multiple hits to reach the top 5 or 10 in rank each
time.

However, this time those presenting the contests have been paying
attention. While they are tickled pink that they are drawing that
many contestants with the contests (satisfying paying advertisers!)
They have added an additional winning option for those who want
something more than a slot tournament...something that rewards
skillful play: That is, they have established a prize for the person
who has scored the most Quick Quads in one 200 hand round! While luck
still plays a role (what gambling venture doesn't involve some luck?)
It does require that the contestant know how to best hold cards to
draw into a QQ. It is not as obvious as you might think!
