Quick Fire Video Poker

I got an e-mail a few days ago from the Pioneer about their new Quick Fire Video Poker. It was very short on details, as they just mention about a few people hitting on the Game King video poker or video keno games. Anyone have an idea what this is all about? I suspect it is a random hit deal that has nothing to do with hitting a big hand?

Background: Until recently, Pioneer had two "jackpots" based on random selection of your machine at a random moment. The small one starts at $10, hits by $25. The large one starts at $10000, hits by $25000. You must have a slot card in the machine to participate in the two jackpots. The small one is for free play (you can activate it immediately at the machine). The large one is for cash; you must be playing on your own card to get the large one.

That said ...Pioneer recently added an "middle" jackpot ... starts at $500, hits by $1199. (There are actually two separate ones of these ... one for slot players, one for video poker players). Same restrictions as big jackpot ... you must be playing on your own card.

The extra jackpot is the good news ... the bad news is that the large jackpot goes up at a fraction of what it did before ... and the middle jackpot goes up fairly slowly also. The large jackpot often grew by $1000 to $2000 per day ... none of us have been tracking it exactly, but a couple of us estimate recently it has gone up by $200 to $300 per day (that's an guess ... but it is obvious that it is going up far slower than it used to ... and the reduction seems to be greater than the extra that goes into the new "middle" jackpot).

BUT WE CAN'T COMPLAIN SINCE THIS IS AN ADDED PROMO! (And hitting the small one a couple times per week is not unusual and makes for some extra playing time!).
