Questions about Harvey's/Harrah's Lake Tahoe

We are 7* and are considering a trip to Lake Tahoe offers.

I checked VP Insider which shows the only playable VP (minimum 9/6
JOB/maximum $5 JOB or $1 JOB 1/3/5-Play) at Harvey's is 1-$5 JOB and
Harrah's with 1-$5 JOB 1/3/5-Play and 4-$1/$2 JOB Triple Play. This
means there are only 6 machines between the two properties that we
could play. Does anyone have current information on VP at
Harvey's/Harrah's Lake Tahoe?

I understand that the two properties are connected by a tunnel and
that they are similar to Paris/Bally's LV in that it is basically ONE
slot club so you can stay at one property, play at the other one, it
doesn't trigger 2 trips and hurt your offers, and everyone is happy.

I would also like to verify that you can charge to your room for
restaurants at either property, regardless at which hotel you stay.

Any suggestions about which hotel to stay at, rooms, restaurants,
attractions and things to do, or anything which might be helpful
would be greatly appreciated.

We know a lot about Harrah's New Orleans and would be happy to share
information. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. Pat

Sorry, I can not help with Lake Tahoe. I have a question on Harrahs New Orleans though. Do they have Super Times Poker 3/5/10 Play? If so how are paytables? Any full pay or close paytables?
  Thanks Chris

Harrah's and Harveys are connected, and you can stay at one and charge at the other. Though I prefer to stay at Harrahs if they give me a suite, Harveys standard rooms are nicer. Staying there is very similar as staying at any of the Harrah's vegas properties.

Both properties need to be updated.

Harveys has the diamond lounge, but they don't offer much. You have to wait for an elevator to take you up, and if it's busy you can wait a long time.

The Lake is beautiful, and there is a boat they'll take you out on for the day. If you get a chance, try not to miss it. And during the winter, the ski lift is almost right next to the Harrah's.

If you fly commerically, you'll fly into Reno, and it's about an hour ride from the airport to Lake Tahoe. Try to get the hotel to pick you up in a limo. They're usually accommodating on that. They will also provide you a limo to take you into Reno for the day and bring you back, though Lake Tahoe is nicer.

I am planning a trip to New Orleans later this year. Any suggestions?

Have fun!

I just returned from my second trip there in the past two months. The
machines are as you report. I personally prefer the $1 triple play JoB.
Others have answered most of your questions, but I will caution you that
these machines (triple play Jacks at $1) are NOT created equal.
According to my notes the machine in the high limit room (4108 08W04)
only plays about 1 bonus RC for every 75 base RC. On the other hand
the machine at the far right of the 3 by the California bar (4326 04R03)
pays 1.2 bonus RC for every 1 base RC. I suggest once you decide what
configuration you want to play, that you carefully evaluate the bonus RC
you are getting before giving it any serious action. You'll likely find
that a particular machine is far superior to the others. This is a good
lesson learned that is probably applicable to many Harrah's properties
and the type of info you won't find in the data base directly.

Good luck! Lake Tahoe is absolutely breathtaking.

PS I did DIAD there in April giving them ~$53K coin in and received
two $175 bounce back coupons I just cashed in June (one for Tahoe and on
for Reno where I played nothing). My wife played ~$4K coin in and got
two $60 coupons. Not sure all of the factors that go into those offers,
but based on strictly coin in that was some good bounce back for me.
