Question about Tavern Ruling in Vegas

The lvrj.com website is usually a good source for information like this. The article by Howard Stutz about the County Commission ruling explains the situation:

I'm a little confused about what the County commissioners
ruled a couple weeks ago. In the following link the article
states that taverns will have "no more than 8" gaming machines
at their bar tops. Is that a typo? Did the article mean no
LESS than 8? I understood that currently it is 15, and this
seems to contradict what I thought they were trying to
accomplish with the rule change.

And then if you play the video of the newscast, they say the
ruling mandates "8 gaming machines". Sounds like some
confusion exists.

Thanks for the link. I'm still not entirely clear on what is to happen, but I assume there will be more reports as this story continues. Thanks again.

The new rule is tht taverns are allowed up to 15 machines, 8 of which must be imbedded in the bar. Dotty's had the 15 machines, but none imbedded in the bar...if they even had a bar...they have two years to do the necessary retrofitting.

So the little tavern around the corner from the Flamingo and Bill's is still OK--(can't remember the name, but the sign says "19 more years on our lease")?

Well that's what I thought was the idea, but the first article incorrectly saying that there could be "no more than 8 machines" confused me. I guess they were in a hurry to get to press.

Interestingly, this was a Clark County ruling, and I believe Dotty's has places in other areas of Nevada. Looking forward to following this saga for the next two years.

Thanks!
