Any comments on
whether a nickel royal affects quarter play statistics? What about
changing games?
It's nice you got a Royal on the nickel machine. The concept of a cycle is
one that I think confuses many players. It is a theoretical statistic - the
amount of hands you would play, assuming you got each possible hand just once,
before you got another Royal. Since machines have no memory and they are
programmed for random hands, not sequences of "all" the hands, there is no cycle
for any one person on any one machine. You can get two Royals in succession or
not get another for ten years. It's all in the random numbers you get which
are chosen for you by the split second you hit the button to start a hand of
Video Poker.
Good luck - hope your next Royal comes soon.
