Q Re: Treasure Island Comp Requirements

I'm going to stay at TI on a mailed offer for 3 room nights and 2
buffets. Can anyone say how much VP play is required to "earn back"
that marketing offer before a host will consider comping other meals?
Thanks.

I'm not sure about room offers. But, recently, I called Treasure Island and
spoke with a host about receiving tournament offers.

I was told that they expect you to earn at least 3,700 points per day for
each day of your stay to cover the current offer and to be invited to future
tournaments. There are other things they look at (but, she wouldn't tell me
what they are) in addition to points. You get one point for each $1.50
played on reels and $3.00 played on video poker. The host said that they
usually don't look at actual wins & losses when determining tournament
offers. Once you exceed the 3,700 points per day, then you can get
additional comps.

I really like Treasure Island a lot. And, their tournaments are
consistently better than at any other property in Vegas.

My recommendation is to speak to host before you play. You can even call
before you get there. They have always been up front with me, whenever I
ask these kinds of questions.

REPLY: Thanks, Luke. It's been several years since I asked at TI. As
I recall, back then they wanted about $11,000/day of VP play. That's
close to what you were told recently-- though TI had a much better VP
inventory then. I'll see how I'm doing after $35K, then decide whether
I'll settle for the free room + McDonald's or go for the food comp, too.

I play the $1.00 9/7 DB and 9/6 DDB games that are 1 to 100 coins per bet.
There are three of each game located next to the players club. The nice
thing about these machines is that they pay 800 coins (per coin bet) for the
Royal Flush (if you bet five or more coins). I like to vary my bets
(depending on whether I am winning or losing) and always get paid the full
amount for the Royal when it hits.
