I agree with Karen on this point. I believe that no
matter how adament the smokers are about deserting the N/S casinos,
that they will NOT desert their favorite casinos in droves.
Just as smoking sports fans, have been forced to forego puffing in
Sports Arenas, with NO perceivable impact on attendance, I think the
same concept will prove true in casinos.
I also think that many allergic people, or those with heart or lung
ailments, who will begin to patronize the casinos, will more than
compensate for those customers that are lost.
In a different vein, if you were to ask me if I would desert LV for
AC, if AC was N/S and LV permitted smoking, my answer would be a
resounding NO! But the reason is purely due to the inferior VP
inventory (at least at the .25 level) in AC.
If I was comparing 2 casinos with equally good vp, I would always
choose the one which offered a N/S property.

Well it happened in tournament bridge (and I was an anti-smoking
activist in that battle). The folks who said they'd quit if they
couldn't smoke did not quit and many who had been chased away by
the smoke came back. Just my experience in a different venue but
I think there's a lot of truth to it.
