On my last trip to Laughlin I ended up playing several
games with Progressive Royals. Some questions came to
mind:1) Does the meter increase with the total amount of coin
played or just when the max. coin is played? In other
words do folks playing short coin-in help with the
progressive meter?
No definitive answer. Sometimes only full pay, sometimes
both.
2) I played games where the meter increased one cent per
dollar played (1%) and 5 dollars played (.2%). What is
the
range of progressive rates available?
There are meters that progress at less than 0.1% and some
that go up 2% and anything in between.
Multiple meters (Royal, SF, Aces, etc TOTAL anywhere from
0.25% up to 1&, generally. Many exceptions.
3) Laughlin seems to have increased the amount of
playable
progressives. How about your neck of the woods, see any
trends?
On my last visit to Laughlin, we found ZERO promising
plays.
Assume an 8/5 bonus 25c starts at $1000, at a 1% meter, it
hits break even ($1400) after one cycle, is 101% after 2
and is a strong play after 3. It advances approx $400 per
cycle. If is is a 0.25% advance, it must go up four cycles
to just break even and therefore, it will probably NEVER be
a good play, assuming that you want at least 101-101.5%.
